Nancy Hammer Bradford enjoys life in her hometown of Scottsboro, AL, with her husband, Dr. Charles R. “Brad” Bradford and her growing family. A graduate of Lipscomb University, she received a B.A. in Art Education, and taught art in the Birmingham, Homewood and Huntsville school systems. In 1986, Nancy was selected as “House Beautiful Woman,” by House Beautiful magazine, and was featured in an advertising campaign and a video presentation.
Nancy has been painting professionally since 2000, studying with many gifted teachers in the United States and internationally. For several years, she has been a participating artist at the Huntsville Museum of Art Gala, where she also serves on the Foundation Board. Nancy’s many travels abroad to places such as Provence, Tuscany and the Dordogne have informed and enlivened her artwork. While she works predominately in oil, she is also versatile – employing a brilliant wash of watercolor or a bright dancing pastel line. Nancy’s use of animated, dynamic color makes each motif come alive. Her works delight and charm with luminous color and lambent, flickering light.
